Terms of Service
Last updated October 14, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Hottub, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("we"), which owns and operates databrokerhub. They cover databrokerhub.com, its forms and tools, and the marketplace. By using any of them you agree to these terms. If you use them on behalf of an organization, you agree for that organization and confirm you're authorized to.
What databrokerhub is
- databrokerhub is a marketplace and broker. Data owners and brokers list datasets, buyers describe what they need, and we vet listings, introduce the parties, and clear, package and deliver data for the sales that go ahead.
- Each sale is governed by a written listing agreement between the seller and us, and a license between the seller and the buyer. If those agreements conflict with these terms, the agreements control for that sale.
- We don't guarantee that a listing will find a buyer, that a request will be matched, or that any dataset suits a particular purpose.
- Our clearance checklist organizes the review of each sale. It isn't legal advice, and it doesn't replace your own counsel.
Who can use it
databrokerhub is for businesses. You must be at least 18 and acting for a business, research organization or other professional purpose.
Listing a dataset
- Everything you tell us about a dataset must be accurate and complete as far as you know, including what personal information it contains and how it was collected.
- You confirm that you own the data or are authorized by its owner to license it.
- You won't submit, or offer to sell through us:
- consumer personal data, meaning information about app users, shoppers, patients, people-search records or location histories
- data collected unlawfully or in breach of a contract, terms of service or confidentiality obligation
- health, biometric, children's, financial-account or government-ID data
- You give us permission to use what you submit to:
- evaluate and vet the listing
- contact you
- describe the listing to prospective buyers
- once you've approved its public text, publish that text on databrokerhub.com and in our machine-readable catalog
- Your contact details are never published.
- We decide what to list, and we may decline, edit for clarity (with your approval), pause or remove any listing at any time.
Requesting data
You give us permission to describe your request to prospective sellers so we can find a match. We won't name you or your organization to a seller without your agreement.
Fees and introductions
- Listing, browsing and requesting data are free.
- Our success fee is described on the fees page and set in each listing agreement.
- If we introduce a buyer and a seller, neither may license the introduced data, or substantially the same data, to the other outside databrokerhub for 24 months after the introduction in order to avoid our fee. If that happens anyway, the fee is still owed.
Confidential information
Datasheets, samples, prices and other non-public details we share about a listing or request are confidential. Use them only to evaluate the deal, and don't share them, unless the information is already public or you have written permission. Where we ask for an NDA, its terms apply as well.
The scrubber tool
- The scrubber on our home page runs entirely in your browser, and files you give it aren't uploaded to us.
- It finds common patterns of personal information and secrets, but it won't catch everything. For example, it misses names of people outside a workspace directory, addresses, and identifying context.
- A preview package is marked not for delivery. Don't use it as a substitute for a cleared, reviewed package.
Acceptable use
- Don't submit false or misleading listings or requests.
- Don't impersonate anyone.
- Don't use contact details we share for anything other than the deal at hand.
- Don't probe, attack or overload the site, or try to get around its rate limits or security.
- Automated reading of our public catalog (/api/listings) is welcome at reasonable rates.
- We may suspend anyone who breaks these rules.
Our site and software
The site, its design, and the databrokerhub software and documentation belong to Hottub, Inc. You keep ownership of everything you submit, subject to the permission you give us above.
Disclaimers and liability
- databrokerhub is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
- To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data.
- Our total liability for any claim about databrokerhub is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $100.
- A signed listing agreement or license may set different limits for that sale.
Indemnity
You'll defend and indemnify Hottub, Inc. against third-party claims arising from:
- data or information you submit or offer for sale
- your breach of these terms
- your violation of law or of anyone else's rights
Changes and ending
- We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use databrokerhub means you accept it.
- You can stop using databrokerhub at any time. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.
- The sections on fees and introductions, confidentiality, liability and indemnity survive the end of your use.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
